Dana Hotel & Spa – In the heart of downtown Chicago you will find tucked amongst the towering buildings the ever-so-chic, Dana Hotel & Spa. This place oozes modern style from the lobby full of modern art to the room with all the bells and whistles.
The room was one of my favorite I have stayed in in quite awhile. The room had a living room, bedroom, bathroom and two (count ’em TWO) balconies. Everything you could want was in that room.
Besides the fact that you are walking distance from every big Chicago restaurant you could want, Dana Hotel & Spa lives up to it’s name with its luxurious spa. I experienced my first body scrub ever, and I must say it is a winter must do!
If you are looking to relax after your spa treatment you can grab the yoga mat provided in your room and get your namaste on, followed by your choice of wine from the wall installation (see image below to see what I mean).
Sips & Bites
If you are looking for a more upbeat day I would suggest going to see the famous Bean followed by cocktails and bites at the hotel’s rooftop venue, Vertigo Sky Lounge. The cocktails were delicious, the outdoor rooftop with a fire pit was stunning and the views of the city light up the room.
Packing to stay at the Dana Hotel & Spa fully depends on the time of year you are there. I was there in the fall and it was quite chilly (think 50s/60s). Also, don’t forget Chicago is not called the Windy City for nothing. The wind is vicious so make sure items you wear are heavy in weight or belted.
