DC Fitness Class

We’re back with another must do list in my A DC Perspective series! I was so excited to hear all your kind words and feedback from our first post (DC Sports Bars You Actually Want To Go To), so I’m happy to share the next installment. I love trying new workout studios all over the city, but my busy schedule always makes it hard to squeeze a workout when I have to look polished and put together for events or meetings. I’ve listed a few of my favorite workouts that also have amazing amenities – it’s almost like I’m in my own bathroom at home!

DC Fitness Class

Soul Cycle (Locations in Georgetown, West End, Mount Vernon, 14th Street, and Bethesda)

This cult-classic exhausts my muscles like no other workout, and I always come out sweaty but motivated to tackle anything in front of me – especially when the music is on point. Some of the studio bathrooms are quite small, so skip the stretch if you can to snag a shower first, and enjoy shower essentials from Le Labo, razors, hair ties/bobby pins, hair dryers and gum on your way out.

PRICE POINT: Chief of Staff

SPECIALS: Check out the themed classes, like hip hop (my favorite), Total Request Rides, and artist vs. artist spins!

ATTIRE: Cropped leggings + Loose-fitting tank top

A DC Perspective: DC Fitness Classes You Can Leave Fresh

Barry’s Bootcamp (1345 19th Street NW)

I’m warning you now – this workout is a killer. The combo of treadmills and a mixed calisthenics section (either arms, abs, full body, or a combination) will push you to your ultimate limit and leave you wiped. However, their grapefruit-scented candles revive me in no time, and their large bathroom won’t leave you feeling cramped. Enjoy luxe Oribe products in-shower, complete with tampons, deodorant, lotion, and Q-Tips.

PRICE POINT: Chief of Staff

SPECIALS: Pick up a delicious smoothie at their Fuel Bar after class – you can even preorder it! My favorite is the Skinny PB.

ATTIRE: Athletic shorts/leggings + Sweat-wicking performance shirt (See how I style it here.)

A DC Perspective: DC Fitness Classes You Can Leave Looking Fresh

Flywheel (Locations in Dupont and CityCenter)

Unlike Soulcycle, I love knowing exactly how much power I’m putting into my spinning workout with their Torqboard technology. Their bathrooms vary in size, but they stock up on Bliss shower products, hairspray, dry shampoo, deodorant, hair dryers, and hair ties/bobby pins.

PRICE POINT: Chief of Staff

SPECIALS: Grab a complimentary banana or apple if you forgot a post-workout snack!

ATTIRE: Workout leggings + Loose-fitting tank top

A DC Perspective: DC Fitness Classes You Can Leave Looking Fresh

305 Fitness (1328 Florida Avenue NW)

From the moment you step in, this class is a trip. Instructors lead you through series of choreography with an in-studio DJ – you heard me right – spinning tracks during the entire hour. The bathroom areas are small, but the space is so Insta-worthy it’s hard not to linger. Shower using Malin + Goetz products, and use the lotion, Q-Tips, hair dryers, dry shampoo, and hairspray before you leave.

PRICE POINT: Chief of Staff

SPECIALS: Grab a coffee from La Colombe next door on your way out!

ATTIRE: Cropped leggings + Loose-fitting tank top

DC Core Power

VA + MD Bonus: Corepower Yoga (Locations in Georgetown, CityCenter, Dupont Circle, Rosslyn, Clarendon, and Bethesda)

I love popping into Corepower for a little zen during my day, or I can take a Yoga Sculpt class and really feel the burn. The bathrooms are fairly sizeable, depending on location, and I can always wash up with Corepower-branded shower products, Q-Tips, mouthwash, tampons, and face wash.

PRICE POINT: Chief of Staff (but membership packages can run on the ‘Legislative Director’ side!)

SPECIALS: Classes are sometimes offered with post-workout pop-up snacks, meditation sessions, and more!

ATTIRE: Cropped leggings + Tight tank top (See how I style it here.)
