A Lacey Perspective: Desk to Drinks

Going from a full work day to an event after work seems like it is an every kday thing for me. If the event is not for politics it is for fashion, and they just keep comin’.

I am fortunate enough to have my own private office where I can change (I joking call this my ‘costume change’ with my coworkers) before I head out for the evening. But if I do not have time for a full costume change there are a few simple things I always do when I am taking a single dress from desk to drinks:

1. Remove your watch for a cocktail/more formal event. For some reason this has become a big pet peeve of mine. There is no need for it now that you are out of the office, it is time for cocktails people! Plus we all know you don’t actually use it to see what time it is, that is what your phone is for. A heavy watch will take from the more formal look you are going for and break up the lines of your long limbs.
2. Add a clutch with a pop of color (keep one or two under you desk at all times).
3. Change into some flashy/fun accessories (ie. sparkly ring, bracelet, funky sunnies etc)
4. Swipe on a deeper/brighter color lipstick.
