A Lacey Perspective: Desk to Drinks

Taking this yummy yellow dress from my desk to drinks was a synch. To keep warm in my chilly office I tossed on my distressed denim jacket and grabbed my go-to carry-all Phillip Lim bag to help carry my pieces to change for drinks.

To stroll through the golden hour to head to happy hour I tossed on a sparkly statement necklace and swapped my bag for something with a bit of punch and my shoes for something a bit more fun. One last tiny detail is that I remove my watch when I head to cocktails. Call me old-fashioned but I think a watch is meant for the day, when you are needing to keep track of time. But when it is time to kick back and have a martini or four, I say opt for a more delicate looking wrist party and remove the oversized watch.

Lastly, thank you all so so much for all of the love regarding my 8 inch post-wedding hair chop! Speaking of wedding, today is exactly one month since I got married! Wow, time really does fly when you are having fun. Cannot wait to share my wedding pics with you all!

I’m envious of people that can wear open toed shoes to work! I can get away with a peep toe, but if I wore shoes like that to work a few comments would be thrown my way! I love the sunny yellow of the dress and that baby needs to be shown off in as many situations as possible.

I agree, I think a peep toe or a closed toe nude wedge would work perfectly. I am pretty lucky I work in a relatively casual environment.

I love this look!! Sadly my work is pretty casual where heels are out of place. Which is such a shame since I have a closet full of them. Since I have started working here though the amount of flats that I own has grown and for someone obsessed with shoes I dont mind at all.

My job is pretty causal too. I opted for nude/gold falts the last time I wore this dress to work.

OMG, your hair looks amazing! Loved it before, but WOW! Gorgeous. ANd, love how you styled both looks… I so want those Target heels by the way and they weren’t at my store yet. The silver and the nude are calling my name. Comfy??

Obsessed. It’s amazing how a change of shoes can make such a difference. Definitely on the hunt for some nude patent sandals or peep toes. Totally versatile. Still loving the new hairdo too!
