A Lacey Perspective: FringeA Lacey Perspective: Fringe A Lacey Perspective: FringeA Lacey Perspective: Fringe

Sweater {c/o Calypso St Barth} | Skirt {J.O.A}Bag {Saint Laurent} | Pumps {Louboutin} similar under $50 | Sunglasses {Karen Walker} | Lipstick {NARS Rita}A Lacey Perspective: Fringe

I have to be honest with you. Getting this post up was a struggle for me. Not because I don’t LOVE this skirt and feel the urge to share it with you. Isn’t it amaze?! I mean …helllllooo fringe! But the fact that my life outside of the blog has become crazy. The irony of leaving my life of politics to focus on the blog (and building my business) and not have time for it is both hilarious and frustrating. As I head towards ALP’s five year anniversary I wonder if I need something to capture my desire again; a new site design, a name change or a new series? I’m not sure.

But the more that I reflected on what I love about my little corner of the internet the more I realized that I am not looking to be another lifestyle blogger (props to those killer lifestyle bloggers out there). You don’t want me to teach you to cook (I can barely not burn my mac and cheese), you don’t want me to show you how to create my favorite cocktail (I only know how to order it) and I would never want to show you my latest DIY (because my last one was in elementary school gluing pasta to colored paper).

This is me. ALP is me. I love getting creative with ways to mix textures, find new color combos and help my girlfriends (and you) find that perfect outfit. So although I am having a bit of a blogger life crisis I am going to continue to move forward with what I love, and I hope you love.

Is there anything you would want to see more of, or different, on ALP?

I know I said this already in my Goodbye 2014 post, but thank you so so much for following along. Especially through the latest ALP dry spell. I promise I am back! xo

Just keep swimming! I love seeing your take on whats trendy mixed with classic pieces. (Especially trends at affordable prices bc you never know when it will fall out of style.) I always look forward to your posts and picking out the must have pieces I rush out and find immediatley. My closet and the economy thank you!

No rush and no crisis :) I think your readers are still here, and I’m glad that you don’t want to transition into something you’re not. Personally, I just appreciate genuine, inspired posts with a mix of items I can afford and ones I can dream about (like this one)! You look great!

I’m right there with ya, Lacey — I’m four years into blogging and recently started to have twinges of, “should I still be doing this?” Like you, I still LOVE it, but it can be hard to find the time. I read an article about blogger burnout that helped me calm down and re-focus. Just passing along! http://pinchofyum.com/15-ways-to-avoid-blogger-burnout

Don’t force yourself to do things that aren’t genuine. You have great style that doesn’t mimic every other blogger out there. Keep on getting dressed and sharing it with us! I know that’s why I keep coming back to ALP.
