If you are new to the ALP Fam you should know that the two furry loves of my life, Lucy and Tyler, often get cameos on IG Stories and every once in a while will be here on the blog. After many questions regarding my fur babies and their accessories I have around the house I thought it was best to round up the five ways I Make Those Unsightly Dog Things Cute.
Matching Accessories to Your Home Decor – Matching accessories to your home decor makes when those toys are tossed on the floor look a little more chic. If you have more than one dog around the house buy matching dog beds, toys, etc. but do a couple little things to differentiate their personalities and genders. We got our two matching grey two-tone dog beds (That came with matching toys and blankets!) at BJ’s Wholesale Club for only $19.99 each!
Replace Ugly Dog Bowls with Chic Bowls – We have a lot of dog food in the house since there are two of those little piggies running around and we used to have two mismatching set of dog bowls. I always hated them, they were such an eye sore, and decided to switch them out with some cute matching pink bowls. Boom. I was a convert. There is no need for those ugly bowls. Make sure to pick bowls you aren’t afraid to possibly chip or break. Our current favorite dog food is BJ’s exclusive Berkley Jensen All Natural Chicken and Brown Rice Holistic Recipe for Dogs.
Matching/Monochromatic Toys – So now that you are matching your pet accessories to your home decor it’s time to build up some more. Find a color scheme and stick to it. Don’t just walk into any store and grab a neon toy (dogs are colorblind anyway). Find toys that you wouldn’t mind laying around. Tyler LOVES his gray fuzzy bone (his sister has the matching one too!)
Cover Dog Beds with Faux Fur – To differentiate Lucy’s BJ’s Berkley Jensen 20″x23″ Cuddler Pet Bed (with Blanket and Toy) from Tyler’s I tossed on an old faux fur. She’s the Princess of the house and deserves a little something extra and boy does she love the addition. Don’t forget to use their personality as you pick your pet’s accessories.
Put Their Favorite Treats in a Chic Treat Holder – In our little family we love BJ’s Berkley Jensen All Natural Large Dog Biscuits. This may seem like a silly extra step but ditch those boxes and place your treats inside a specific container for treats. Even a large mason jar filled with treats would be chic!
I’m sure you can tell that we love BJ’s Wholesale Club for our dogs’ stuff. BJ’s offers a large selection of leading national brands and specialty pet food brands that cater to your pet’s needs without breaking your budget! What’s not to love? I highly suggest becoming a member.
