One of my favorite things about living in Washington DC is the when the Cherry Blossoms begin to bloom and I walk around downtown realizing spring has sprung. That walk is the exact moment when I remember how truly lucky I am to live in our Nation’s Capital.

To kick off spring in DC we celebrate with The Cherry Blossom Festival (normally held around the end of March to middle of April). To start the festival off with a color-appropriate bang The Cherry Blossom Festival hosts a fundraiser, the Pink Tie Party.

As you can tell I had THE perfect dress for the event and I could not be more thrilled to have joined in on the fun! Prosecco flowing, everyone wearing their pink-appropriate best and celebrating the first day of spring… what could be better?!

You can find tons of other fun Cherry Blossom events to join in on over on the NCBF site!

I can’t wait for the blossoms to bloom this year! I’ve convinced the hubs to come down with me to the tidal basin to see the blooms at sunrise. He’s not looking forward to giving up a weekend of sleeping in, but I keep telling him it’ll be worth it!

That dress was perfect for the pink tie party!

Gotta love your cherry blossom inspired outfit! I’ve lived in the DC area my whole live and I’m pretty sure my parents took me as a child, but I have no memory of attending the cherry blossom festival. It’s certainly been a long time! Anyway, I got tickets to do the cherry blossom river cruise this year and I’m so stoked to go!!

Lacey, I live in Florida so sadly we don’t get to see cherry blossoms in the spring but I’m saving any trip I ever take to DC for this season so that I can see them! I think they’re so gorgeous. A Pink Tie Party seems like such a great theme for a spring party and of course I just loooove your dress – I’m a huge fan of sequins.
