If you have been following me on Instagram Stories, you know that i have made a pretty significant change in my eating habits this year. I would never, ever say I am on a “diet” but I am looking to make little changes that make a meal a bit healthier or lower calorie (I really like my bread and cheese). Even with my cocktails I have been on the hunt for the perfect skinny cocktails to add to my evenings so I can still indulge in some of my favorites but for significantly less calories.
Several gloomy, rainy days ago Jen and I had a lot of work to get done, and I told her that our incentive to knock it out would be making my new favorite skinny cocktail, the Skinny Grapefruit French 75. It is under 110 calories and the perfect cocktail for a girls night in. When Jen took her first sip she instantly said, “Oh, wow. Ok.” You know it’s a good one.
What inspired this cocktail was my current obsession I found at Kroger, Bai Bubbles. Only 5 calories and a gram of sugar (with no artificial sweeteners!) for the whole can is such a great way to curb that sweet craving in the day but at night the perfect vehicle for a skinny cocktail.
Speaking of Kroger, it is literally the grocery store of my childhood. I will always remember walking through Kroger with my mom grabbing my favorite treats and begging for Archie Comics (showing my age now.) So whether you get to leave with Archie Comics or not, Kroger is now giving you $0.75 off TWO (11.5oz) Bai Bubbles! So that just made making a batch of skinny cocktails that much easier. I’m using the Bolivia Black Cherry flavor below, but there are plenty of bold flavor options to spice up your day or wrap up your evening on a sweet, bubbly note.
