Yesterday I told you I was on plane to a tropical vacay, and now that I have arrived I would wear this look walking along the beach, or frankly, anywhere all day in my tropical paradise. A bit confused? Head to my post from yesterday for explanation.

Sure this may not be the most figure flattering dress, but the cut (I have been dying to try the high/low trend) and color was too hard to resist. PLUS it is oh-so comfy.

Lastly, yes… I may or may not have bought a third Panama Hat so that I can remove the band and be able to wear it with looks that wouldn’t look good with black. Judge away…

If you follow me on Twitter you may have witnessed my ~~complaining~~ chat with some other bloggers about the conspicuous lack of “rainy day” outfit inspiration in the blogosphere. So I made it my mission to compile all of the rainy day outfit inspiration I could find on my newest Pinterest board.

As we transition from chilly rainy days into warm and dreary days, I try to forgo heavy trench coats. To solve the problem of staying dry I stick with my rainboots and a large umbrella, but since my office can be chilly I toss on an over-sized scarf to stay warm.

With my new rainy day inspiration I can’t wait for more spring showers to come!

Since we have a week full of high 70s I think it is safe to say spring has sprung here in DC. Bring on the pastels, neons, high-heeled sandals, florals and my favorite season of the year! Also, let’s all welcome my newest shoe addition: the pastel color-blocked ASOS sandals. I love them oh so much. The color, comfort and that fact that they scream spring make them my new favs. Shhhh… don’t tell my other shoes.

Lastly, congratulations to my Florida State Seminoles for becoming ACC Champions! Bring on the dance!

We all know I love pattern mixing (see here, here and here) but I never thought about trying similar patterns but different widths and/or colors. Now THAT is some pattern mixing! So in love with the stripe on stripe look – going to have to try this with some other striped pieces I have.

Saturday morning, an unseasonably warm and breezy DC morning, I went to brunch with Liz of So Much to Smile About, Nikki of Cupcakes for Breakfast and Julie of JulipMade. Over mimosas and laughter I realized how quickly this blogging world really has been more then just a blog – you make friendships you never would have made if you didn’t take the risk to put yourself out there for the web to see and have others who understand that risk.

I kept it comfy and light with my favorite maxi, gingham top and leopard loafers. Other then fighting the wind over which direction my maxi should lie, it was the perfect outfit to stuff my face and still feel put together.

I hope everyone had a relaxing and fabulous long weekend!
