I had a blast at the Madwell Style Session Alison and I hosted last night! The champagne was flowing, the shopping was plentiful and I am madly in love with my new floral jeans! Thank you to everyone who attended!

Finding out you have a fellow blogger as a neighbor is NOT a bad thing at all. Lucky for me it took a quick text for my neighbor Meagan to hop over and snap a couple pics for me (the fiance is traveling). Her hilarious, sarcastic sense of humor (my kinda gal) had me laughing through the whole shoot.

This photo sesh then turned into opening a bottle of red, introducing our dogs and gabbing til about midnight.

As soon as I stepped out of the cab to meet Alison to head to an event, I saw her reaction to my colorblocking. I instantly said, before she could speak, “Yes, I look like a watermelon and I friggin’ love it.”

Sometimes a bright, cheery color scheme is all you need to brighten up any day, and this look did it. So why not a little watermelon colors on a hot, DC summer day?
