I have been dying to rock the Texas Tuxedo and give a loving nod in the direction of my Lone Star roots. What better way to show my southern spirit then to add some strap-y, sparkly sandals and take the look from “bless your heart” to “yeeehaw!”

Also, according to the responses via Twitter to my question, “Do cutting jeans into shorts count as a DIY?” I am officially a DIYer by taking old high school jeans that flared (yeah that bad) into cut-off shorts. This will most likely be the closest I get to being a DIYer for, most likely, the rest of my life. So I am enjoying it why I can.

Yay – I just cut some jeans yesterday to make shorts since I couldn’t find any cutoffs that I liked! Love this denim on denim look and your glittery heels – so cute!! :)

Real life…I wear my chambray shirt and cut off (from old jeans) shorts at least 3 times a week. This is my favorite go-to outfit!!

Haha, I have all these DIY projects pinned on pinterest, and the only DIY i’ve ever started and completed in the last 10 years was a pair of cut-off shorts. Next time I go up to Massachusetts, I’m going to raid my closet and make more!

Looking good :)
