The Willard InterContinental – Steps away from the White House is the historical landmark, The Willard InterContinental. I have been in this hotel for cocktails or a reception for a conference but I have never stayed in one of their rooms. I am going to let the images do the majority of the talking but I cannot express how absolutely stunning this hotel is. The list of celebrities, presidents and diplomats that have stayed at The Willard is endless. The customer service is exactly what you expect; prompt, friendly and attentive.
The White House is literally around the corner so that is of course a must, but there is so much more than just the historical landmarks around us. Some of DC’s best restaurants, bars and shopping is just a walk away.
The one thing that surprised me during my stay (with my bestie Ashley) was how easy it was to stay right in The Willard and have plenty to do (especially the food and drink which I’ll get to next). Girls night was in full effect.
Sips & Bites
Round Robin – Round Robin is my go-to bar to take visitors to. The cocktails are epic (with a great seasonal menu) and the bartenders have so many amazing stories to tell. I think this bar is the epitome of a classic DC evening.
Taste of InterContinental – To celebrate seven decades of the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Ashley and I were lucky enough to experience the Taste of the InterContinental. A four course meal with brilliant wine pairing that took us on an international trip through our taste buds. My favorite course was the main course, Wagyu Beef Cheeks served on a bed of a Lemon Myrtle Risotto.
This beautiful hotel calls for a more conservative, luxurious look. Don’t be afraid to come in your most fashionable look but don’t wear anything to revealing either. See what I wore to the Taste of the InterContinental here.
