Washington Marriott at Metro Center

Washington Marriott at Metro Center – In the heart of downtown DC you can find it all; restaurants, bars, history and of course hotels. There is one I have walked passed at least a million times and have never walked in but always knew it’s location as amazing. Well, lucky for me I was asked to staycation at the Washington Marriott at Metro Center a couple weeks ago and I had a fantastic time. The rooms are cozy, modern and very large. Perfect for a girls staycation with your bestie. Oh, and I would be remised if I didn’t mention there is a Starbucks in the lobby. You read that right. Starbucks.

You are near everything you ever needed for a fun stay in DC. A walk away from the National Gallery of Art (one of my favorites), a walk from The White House and a short cab ride from The National Mall. My ultimate favorite stop near the  Washington Marriott at Metro Center is City Center. All the shopping and delicius restaurants you need literally a two block walk away. Ashley and I may or may not have spent many hours wander City Center.

Sips & Bites

Fire and Sage – Set just off the lobby is a modern American cuisine restaurant names Fire and Sage. It was perfect to pop in for a quick lunch and cocktail before we set off to explore our city. My favorite item on the menu was the French Onion Soup.

Walking Distance Bites – There are so many restaurants walking distance but the two I would recommend is the newly opened Ocean Prime (obsessed with the Prime Roll) and the City Center staple Fig and Olive (love the bar’s atmosphere for after dinner drinks).

Packing to stay at the Washington Marriott at Metro Center really depends on your plans. For the hotel itself and playing tourist feel free to keep it casual. For the majority of the restaurants around they are a bit more upscale so think chic, casual (ie. jeans, heels and leather jacket).
