Last week I shared my tips and thoughts on owning a pug and today I thought the next step is to treat your pug, of course. Honestly, these will work with any breed but James and I are on the hunt for a second pug, so pugs are on the brain. After us constantly visiting the BJ’s Wholesale Club Pet Aisle we have discovered several ways to treat our little fur baby…

First thing we have been trying to narrow down his snacks. Sounds simple, right? But actually, with how easy pugs gain weight you have to make sure that they don’t intake too many and the right type of snacks. There are so many different types of treats out there from dental to all natural. We have been trying out the Blue Dog Bakery Softies Treats and Tyler has been loving them!

With such busy lives we often forget about giving extra attention to our little man. Something we have started to do is take one day a month where we fully focus on him. Bath him, clip his toenails, brush him, weigh him and relax with him.

Next up is to reevaluate your dog’s food. Many owners will buy one type of dog food and keep it for years and years. As your dog ages and gains/loses weight, your food you feed them needs to change too. We have recently changed to Berkley Jensen All Natural Grain Free Duck and Vegetables Holistic Recipe for Dogs because we are trying to remove grain from his diet because he has such a sensitive stomach.

Lastly, we love to spoil Tyler with toys to treat him. He has a basket full of them, but he really can’t get enough of the toy that came with the dog bed we bought at BJ’s. The Berkley Jensen 20″ x 23″ Cuddler Pet Bed with Bonus Blanket and Toy has become his favorite place with his favorite toy (shhh… don’t tell the others).
