This week I have been officially blogging for three years. Although style blogging is full of smiling for the camera and perfectly curated outfits it has not all been easy. From negative anonymous comments to the blogging community’s competitiveness it is sometimes difficult to feel motivated to strike a pose, or purchase the newest ‘it’ heels or don those oversized designer sunglasses. I did not get into blogging for free clothes or for my love of Google Anayltics. I got into blogging to find a creative outlet and inspire others when they get dressed in the morning.
I would not have made it this far still in love with my little corner of the internet if it was not for a select few in my life. My first thank you, of course, needs to go to my husband who (after some math over a bottle of wine and realizing that he was still my boyfriend when this all started) has taken over 350 outfit post shoots for me and constantly kept a smile on his face no matter how many times I would ask for ‘one more reshoot’. My second thank you goes to my readers. From encouraging tweets to stopping me in the middle of a rain storm to tell me that you love my blog I constantly am in shock at how I am one of the luckiest bloggers in the world to have you all stop by here and get to know me… and my perspective. In addition, I need to thank my blogging friends. Sometimes it is hard to find friends in this competitive profession of blogging, but when you do hold on tight and don’t let go. Those of you who I am holding on tight to, you know who you are… thank you.
These last three years of ALP have been a roller-coaster ride and one I do not plan on getting off of anytime soon.
Lastly, for all of you out there who have a blog, no matter the size, and feel discouraged by trying to ‘keep up with the blogging Jones’ or stuck in a blogging rut remember that we all are here (or at least started here) for a reason… to inspire and be inspired. Never forget that.
I hope to continue to inspire and continue to be inspired by you, my lovely readers and friends.
xoxo
Lacey :)

I love this post. It’s so true, that as much as we smile, it’s kind of a tough little thing to keep putting yourself out there every single day with so little feedback.
Congrats on 3 years, you’re a trooper! And I wish you all the best.
Obviously RM recognizes how awesome you are.

Thanks for your thoughts on this Lacey. As a newer blogger, it’s so rewarding but so hard to figure out the way ahead. I get frustrated when my photos aren’t as good as I want them to be or I feel like I odn’t have anything to say. But I love doing it. Crazy as it is. And I don’t intend on stopping any time soon. :)
Lacey
Keep at it!
