A Lacey Perspective: AmericanaThere is little to nothing more American then the view from the Jefferson Memorial. You can see a gorgeous view of the monuments, people out on the Potomac River and frankly it is one of the harder memorials to get to so the tourist count is lower.

Living in the number one destination for the Fourth of July has made me truly fall in love with the holiday. One of my favorite things to do for the Fourth is watch the fireworks. It is the one moment where everyone is silent, looking up and reflecting on how lucky we all are to call ourselves American.

My husband works at the White House so I am lucky enough to get the opportunity to watch the fireworks on the White House’s South Lawn. There are tons of staffers with their families, fun Presidential Seal shaped food and a surprise performance every year. Every time I go I feel like I need to pinch myself to remember where I am.

This year I have teamed up with Ann Taylor to share that unique experience with you! I will be taking over their Instagram on the Fourth so you can get a peak into this fantastic event. So make sure you are following me and Ann Taylor on Instagram!

Love this look, and the hairstyle is so cool :-) I’m a history and political nerd, so I love reading of white house adventures!
