Getting to my first day of NYFW SS15 was a feat in itself. I got back from a week in Florida for work/play late Sunday night. Monday I unpacked, repacked, got a killer facial thanks to La Jolie, freshened up my highlights thanks to my hair stylist extraordinaire Jamie of Haute.202 and then was on a train to NYC the next morning. Wednesday was filled with client meetings and before I knew it it was Thursday AM and I was heading to the BCBG show.
The first day of shows I instantly noticed that pastels are back in a big way. Not the way you are used to seeing them. Pastels are now flowing light, sleek fabrics and not apart of florals and lace. It is absolutely a new chic way to wear pastel.
The Jay Godfrey presentation had a different idea in mind. He gave us some intense cowgirl chic with teal, black sequins and fringe. Not mad about it.
My absolute favorite show of the day was Tadashi Shoji. Once again lots of pastels, but this time he used them to take his red carpet ready gowns to the next level. Can we talk about that golden yellow caped dress?! I know we will be seeing that on a red carpet.
Lastly, I gave culottes a chance and I am obsessed! Seriously you will be seeing me in them all fall/winter long. I highly recommend giving them a shot.
