I said it last beauty post, but I have to say it again. I never thought I would be remotely interested in beauty, never mind have ALP cover it, but when Walgreens asked me to share what  I saw on the runways at NYFW FW15 (and after I attend NYFW this season SS16) I couldn’t say no. There were so many fun beauty trends that came out of FW15 that I was thrilled to share with you what I plan on attempting this fall/winter.

There were two major trends that I saw consistently throughout the shows I attended last season.

The first being what I like to call, “The Twiggy”. Rachel Zoe did it best, in my opinion, by keeping the models face clean and simple with a very exaggerated eye (see my coverage). A extremely winged eye-liner and mascara galore (don’t forget about those bottom lashes for the real Twiggy effect). Finish off with a neutral, somewhat pinkish lip.

The second trend I saw done best was Michelle Obama’s favorite, Bibhu Mohapatra, who gave it a real funky, unique look (see my coverage). This one I like to call, “The Updated Smokey Eye”. No longer are the days of the all black smokey eye that is strategically placed. Try metallics or do all black but don’t forget to blend. This is what is the difference from your last smokey eye. This is a softer, more exaggerated look. Blend, blend and then blend some more.A Lacey Perspective: Fall/Winter 2015 Beauty

I bet you didn’t think you could recreate these looks with items from Walgreens? Well you can! Talk about convenient and affordable! Below I pulled items that can easily create The Twiggy and The Updated Smokey Eye.
