*recipe below*
When I was younger and living in Texas my mother’s sweet tea was what I ran to after school. The bright lemon and sugariness was addicting. But the one thing I didn’t care about then was how caloric each glass was …we’re talking almost 80 calories a glass)! I was determined to find a way this favorite could be a bit more “skinny recipe” friendly. I had no idea as I started to play around with creating it I would find one that is ZERO CALORIES! Truly, I was so impressed with myself once I tasted it I ran to my mom’s to have her approve. I shared a glance of it once on my Instagram Stories and y’all were begging to get this really easy recipe. I got you…
INGREDIENTS
- 12 Black Tea Bags
- 1 Cup of Stevia in the Raw
- 1 Large Lemon
- 1/2 Gallon of Filtered Water
INSTRUCTIONS
- Place 12 black tea bags in pot. Add water.
- Bring water to a boil and let sit for 3 minutes.
- Remove pot from heat and remove tea bags. You can either use a mesh strainer (and strain into jug you chose to make sweet tea in) or scoop out the tea bags with a large spoon.
- Place tea concentrate in one gallon jug. Should fill about halfway.
- Place 1 cup of Stevia in the Raw in and mix with a large spoon. If you don't want it as sweet do 3/4 a cup.
- Add 1/2 gallon of filtered water in with concentrate.
- Mix with large spoon vigorously.
- Squeeze 1 large lemon into mix.
- Mix with large spoon vigorously.
- Place in fridge overnight (or 1-2 hours if you are in a rush).
- Pour over ice and garnish with a lemon wedge.
- Enjoy guilt free!
